Lab created diamonds display the same physical, chemical and optimal characteristics as natural diamonds.

Why does silver jewelry turn black?

Sterling silver turns black or tarnishes due to a chemical reaction caused by contact with sulfur or hydrogen.  Acidity in the skin also causes jewelry to tarnish.  Continued exposure to chemicals as in soap, perfume, lotion can cause build-up on gems which minimizes the luster and sparkle.  It is recommended that you remove jewelry before performing these applications.

How do you get tarnish off of jewelry?

Baking soda. To remove built-up tarnish from your silver, make a thick paste with 1/4 cup baking soda and 2 tablespoons water. Apply with a damp sponge and gently rub, rinse, and buff dry. To polish gold jewelry, cover with a light coating of baking soda, pour a bit of vinegar over it, and rinse clean.
